Does Windows Messenger 4.7 or 5.0 provide support for my Web camera?

Yes it should -- it also will work with some DV cameras, digital cameras and video (card)
inputs.

Then how do I use it with Windows Messenger 4.7? This is really for my brother but I was tring to help him configure Windows Messenger to use his web camera but didn't see an option to use it. I told him that's only available with MSN Messenger 6. Did I miss something?

Hi Sam,

To configure it, have him open the main Windows Messenger 4.7 window, click the Tools menu,
then Audio Tuning Wizard (it does video too).

Then within any conversation window, he can simply choose "Start Camera".

I have a Canon MV550i camcorder and would like to use it as a web cam but when I click camera it says that it must be VFM format. Is there a way I can convert or do I have to acquire a webcam
Seems strange that I can make movies with Movie Maker using the firewire port but simple web cam duty doesn't happen
