Web access problem via clicking a link

Using XP Home with SP2. Suddenly stopped being able to click on a link to
access a website. I now have to copy and paste the URL into the browser (IE
6) to access sites. I was able to click links after SP2 installed two weeks
ago. This just started yesterday. I did not install and programs or change
anything in past week

Is this an IE problem or did something in XP get corrupt. Any suggestions
on how to get this working again.
