Weak sound on monitor speakers

New PC running Vista with LED monitor having build-in speakers
Sound is far to low; have adjusted volume in every place I can think of.
Simple external speakers work fine.
Any ideas?

Have you tried using a different audio cable between your machine and
monitor? Your existing cable might be faulty.
