Looks like you were right Mucks :) Maybe tomorrow for the 1 Million barrier!

Today saw one of the best overall return of results we have ever accomplished.

This is in despite of the fact that several active members did not turn in a result.

I have no idea whether that is a direct result of some of you moving over to Bionc or not ... time will tell.

The team returned 22,208 points overnight

Now that is a result and a half

Good show everybody

Yep, should be right on the button for 1,000,000 points.

So ... everybody should have their PCs turned on AND crunching ... lets do it with a bang.

I'm having a little bit of trouble with my pc & internet. I'm currently on a windows 98machine with 128mb ram and an 8gb hard drive lol. My laptop might be on, but shouldn't be long.

Well done to everybody though :thumb:

sorry about the lack of results yesterday, i was stuck in an exam till 5 and then i was trying to set up user accounts so i had alot of restarts and user switching, after all that it only gave me about 2 hours of crunching before i decided it was time for bed

Apologies from me aswell, i was away from home all day and wasn't able to leave the computer on.

BOINC returned a load of results for me yesterday. I think i am converted! :D

Check the attachment.

I was returning about 4 results a day with the UD agent.

No appologies needed Stuart ... excuses will do fine. :D

As a matter of fact The MJW PC never got a return in befor midnight either and on 'stats.free.org' shows no returns or points. However, I take 'current' reading at the time I do the stats, so I can post a more uptodate count.

I also have a running Database for easier calculations ... I can see at a glance what is happening and see any changes quickly. Shame I can't link it to the Stats site.

WCG are nearing a conclusion for us Linux users AND Boinc users for Windows with a new Stats Page ... Here complete with team results. Should be interesting. ;)

I'll keep The MJW PC going for a few more days to see if indeed it has any benifit, it is showing good results so far, dispite seeming to take longer over WUs ... it is, afterall, a 64bit system. :thumb:

:D

Nice one V_R ... I hope it continues, but not to demorolise you in anyway the stats do fluctuate erraticly on Boinc ... but keep it going for another week, that really should give a good representation of how good Boinc may be over UD. :)

I know Ady with his dual-core will not be returning to UD as indeed his system is in efect running two WU at the same time ... one up for AMD. :thumb:

It is a shame ChrisP didn't give it more time as it did look from my stats as there was a big jump ... needed more time to be sure though.

Keep up the good fight Folks. :thumb:

I uninstalled BOINC... BUT ITS STILL RUNNING!!!!!

Weird - nothings appearing anywhere else except for the task manager. Oh well - a bit of Boincage from what i see cant be too bad!

Sounds like you still have the service running ... follow These distructions and see if it helps.

Absolutely, i noticed that. The returned results are obviously from the previous day aswell.

But is nice to start with a bit of an impact! :D

My plan is to leave it going for a week, Then possibly try the 'optimised' version for my cpu that Ady posted in the BOINC thread, and see if it makes a difference.

What do you think, will the optimised one be that much better?

I don't know VR ... I am running it optimised for 64bit SSE on MJW ... again, too early to tell.

I did pick up 12/17 hour WUs though, which does not help, but today we have had a couple of 2hour quickies. It is the luck of the draw and only time will tell if there is any real improvement. I have been keeping a running database.

I haven't had a real big job yet but i'm sure i will.

You'll have to let me know if you see a difference. :)

There already has been a difference, I don't want to get your hopes up, as there was a server glitch and, Boinc is erratic in points return but ...

on the 11/12/13th Jan you had over 61,000 points with slow increases, on 14th you had a big jump to over 65,000 points ... now, as I said, wait and see. :D

Today was our best day for points and results returned!!

We returned 132 results and generated 23,768 points with a total run time of 29 days 11 hours and 28 minutes!

We also hit one million points total! That puts us in the top 500 for points and results! :D

Thats the best since the 3rd Jan.

Well done team!! :D:thumb:
