Way to many programs running under my task manager help

I could use some help on this when I click Ctrl-Alt-Delete it shows that I
have 41 processes running and I dont even know what half of them are and I
dont know what ones I need and what ones are just leaching off my PC but my
computer has been running real slow and every one I talk to just say hit the
ctrl-alt-delete
to find out whats running but that dont help if it dont say the name of the
program.
I checked for spyware/virus etc and came up clean if any one could help that
would be great.

How about using an internet search engine like Google to get some information on those processes?
