Wave device

I have a modem (zoom 2949L) that I was using. I upgraded to WinXPPro and now
the os cannot find the wave device driver. Is there a wave device driver
supplied by winXP?

It is supplied by the modem. Older modems tend to have wave drivers only for older windows. It is only used if you want your computer to talk on the phone (eg, as an answering machine) but you need extra software for this anyway.
