Hi
I am running XP home and have not had any trouble with sound until after I
was away for a week, leaving my PC turned off.
When I boot up, I have sound, then, after a while it goes, and in CP I have
"no audio device". In Device Manager I have a yellow ! by Micorosft Kernel
Wave Audio Mixer, adn in properties get "Windows cannot load the device
driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
I have searched all over the internet trying to find solutions. This
morning I downloaded a patch from Msoft that mentioned the kmixer.sys driver
that appears to be the one I am having trouble with - still have same
problem. It is driving me NUTS!
I have an onboard sound card (not sure what it is - how do I find out?)
Any help greatly appreciated
