.WAV files vs MP3

Hi, I am a High School teacher, trying to have my students add sound to
PwrPt presentations. Can add . wav to slides but error mesage adding MP3.
MP3 plays in Window Media player. do I have to tell PwrPt to recognize .MP3?
New computer last week. Thanks.

Error msg is "PowerPoint cannot paly this file, make sure it is in .wav
format", after working with it some more I believe you can only play . wav
in the slide transition menu, but you can play any music format from the
insert / Move and Sounds command tool bar. Thougts? Thanks. r/ Curt

You are correct. Only WAVs can be attached to slide transitions. Insert |
Movies and Sounds allows a wider range of file types.
