One MP3 file and a series of slides

Dear NG,

I can not get an MP3 file to play across a series of slides. If I insert an
MP3 file in a presentation, the slides do not auto-advance. I can use a
..wav file in the Animations | Transition Sound textbox. Then the slide show
advances nicely. If I try to use an MP3 file in Transition Sound I get an
error message: PowerPoint can't play the sound file <Voice.mp3>. Make sure
that this is a .wav audio file... Of course it is not a .wav file. Since
my voice-over file is quite large I would rather use MP3 compression, but if
this is impossible I guess I am stuck with .wav. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Dear John and NG,

Thanks for the web reference. It looks like that will do it for me.
Without getting on a "soapbox," it looks like Microsoft is crippling one
product (PowerPoint) so it can sell other media products. Not that I am all
that down on Microsoft, as they were a major reason why "everyman" uses
computers today. I have retired from the industry and have witnessed a
bunch of things come and go since I first programmed a computer in 1963. I
am no stranger to these kind of tricks; like making changes in header files
to fool a program into accepting something it wants to reject :). Have a
great day.

Cheers,

Bob
