Wanted - "View Web Content" in explorer on XP

T

Todd

Can you help??

I have both Win2000 Pro and WinXP Pro,,, In windows
2000 pro,, I have an option to "view web content" in
windows explorer folders - and I love it,,, it shows me
thumnails of graphics, images AND shows me HD
usage,,,etc...

Does Windows XP pro offer this same viewing in its
explorer? I don't want to use "view thumnails" or "view
pictures".... I would like to achieve "view web content"
as in 2000,,,, --where everything, a thumnail, and HD
usage is viewed in a column down the left side of the
window...... can this be done in xp???

thank you for your time and possible help!!

Hi Todd,

I believe what you want to do is the following:

Click Start - Control Panel - Tools - Folder Options.
On the General Tab under Tasks...chose "Showw common tasks in folders" and
then Ok all the way out.
Close and reopen the windows.

On the right hand side of your window you should have a bar that shows
common tasks (looks different than Win2k). Under details you can see file
size, thumbnails, drive size (when in the root), file system type (when in
the root).

Does this give you what you are looking for?

Thanks,
Nico Tomacelli

Be advised there's a downside to that.

"View As Web Page" autoruns HTML script, typically within an .htt
file, as directed by the Desktop.ini in that directory.

Any write-shared directory can have a hostile Desktop.ini pointing to
a hostile HTML dropped at the same time.

So this makes every shared folder a primary entrance point.
