Hi,

I'm looking for ergonomic keyboard with an integrated usb 2.0 hub. I
heard about the Microsoft Natural Keyboard pro and this comes close to
what I want but it is not available for usb 2.0.

Any hints?

Regards,

Matthias.

Buy a powered USB 2.0 hub and plug the keyboard of your
choice in.

I wanted to save some money because I just need one USB port for my
external hard drive (don't have a front usb port) and I need a new
ergonomic keyboard. I think it's cheaper to buy both in one, isn't it?
And its one device less on my desk...

Matthias.

Perhaps, but the USB ports on a keyboard will make the
keyboard harder to use, if you like to be able to move the
keyboard to your lap or just to a different place on the
desk.

It isn't too difficult to add a front USB port, depending on
having an available external 3-1/2 or 5-1/4 inch drive bay.
If your motherboard has USB headers you just connect to
those headers on the motherboard (or a USB card) and you're
in business.

A simple USB 2.0 can be connected to the rear ports and the
outlet box can be attached to the computer case or monitor
or just placed on the desk.

I don't know of any keyboards with a USB 2.0 hub, but one
source ( at least just for ideas, since I see you're in
Germany ) is www.cyberguys.com

You certainly need USB 2.0 for an external hard drive. It
might be more expensive to buy a keyboard with the port,
than a separate hub and a nice keyboard. The hub would be
less likely to have problems since a keyboard has more to go
wrong during use.

I looked on Google and didn't find any keyboards that had
USB 2.0 ports, all seemed to be USB 1.1 if they listed any
specification. Remember, you'll probably want more USB 2.0
ports up front, for your camera or card reader, a scanner or
joy-stick or maybe a WACOM tablet for photo-editing.

Good luck with your search.
