Oh not got round to it yet, been so busy. I have only got one monitor here so it is hard to get the cables sorted out and I am currently watching MOTD! :)

Why is it not meant to work or something? :p

No was curious as to why you said it wasn't working.

I fully tested it before sending it off, so was curious as to why it might've been broken, but you've said you've not wired it up so that's ok. Was just slightly worried, that's all.

Hi the drive got picked up on bios and windows.

I inserted a dvd and it worked as in reading it.

I tried to copy one dvd to another using nero and it kept on freezing.

Would it be advised to reinstall Nero because I got a new drive?

I didnt try to burn a disk on it's own just yet, bit stuck for time here.

Let me know what you think

thanks

Never use Nero, I use DeepBurner and that drive worked fine with that.

Only reason I initially got the drive was for the LightScribe functionality, never had issues with it, and I used it for a while in the old machine.

It's literally only a couple of months old, so am really unsure why you say its freezing, do you have the drives on separate IDE channels?

Lightscribe is where it can etch a design onto the CD/DVD. You need special CD/DVD's to use that.

I've got no idea about the freezing, but let me know the outcome.

So spill the beans, is it all working now.

You've gone rather quiet over there.

Hi last time I was trying to copy a backup dvdr,

but just now I tried burning to a dvdr at 16X and it worked a treat. It took under 8 minutes. So that is very quick!

Job done,

thanks

Good man, I must say I've used something called Magic DVD Copier or what not and what worked a treat with the drive.

I will have to remember that
I am in the process of resintalling windows and will probably install Nero, but might go for that program if I can find it. :)
