Want watermark only on first page

I have a document with a watermark on the first page. However when it becomes
a multi-page document, the watermark appears on every page. How do I change
it so that the watermark shows only on the first page?

Select File > Page Setup > Layout tab and turn on "Different first page".
Click OK.
In the document, do to the header of page 2 (View > Header and Footer).
Click on the watermark to select it (must show small handles). Then delete it.

If you have other content in the header/footer, this is affected when you
turn on "Different first page". You may need to copy the header/footer from
page 2 to page 1 to correct it afterwards.

Typically Watermarks are tied to sections, so make sure that you have
"Different First Page" turned on for your document.

Or open the header. Select the watermark (you will probably need to use the
white arrow selector from the drawing toolbar). Cut it to the clipboard
(CTRL+X). Close the header view then paste the graphic on the first page.
