I want to switch to MSN as ISP. I have heard that it is very hard
to "get rid of Aol" on your hard drive. Is this true? What needs to
be done to completely get "rid" of AOL on your system. Thanks, Steve

Getting rid of AOL has not been difficult for me using the Add/Remove
program feature in Contol Panel. If you've upgraded, you may find that you
have more than one version on your computer, but that will be evident in
Control Panel. Be sure to remove all of them if there is more than one
version.

Yep.

Format and reinstall. It's the only way. AOHELL scatters files all over the
damned place - to be sure of nuking every last one, a format is the only way
to go.

Sadly, the only practical way I've ever found to _completely_
remove AOL from an operating system is to format the hard drive and
perform a clean installation. I absolutely loathe having to resort to
a hard drive format to fix what _should_ be a relatively minor issue,
but it takes a lot less time than manually removing/replacing all of
the Windows system files that AOL replaces with their own versions and
the hundreds of unnecessary registry entries.
