You can click on Insert > Picture > From file. Select multiple pictures and
click insert. This will insert multiple pictures on one slide.
In PowerPoint 2002/XP and above, you can also make use of the photo album
feature to insert multiple pictures, one per page. Click Insert > Picture >
New Photo Album.
