I am trying to fix my father's computer, but seems that although the
network is there, it cannot send/receive data. It is running XP Pro

On going to Device manager, Vew, Show hidden devices
WAN Miniport (IP) is missing
and none for xxx -" packet schedular miniport"

on the Plug and Play drivers:

NetBios over Tcpip has a yellow exclamation mark and will not allow me
to update drivers, even though the NetBT file is in C:/windows/system32

Same problem with a few others like NDIS Usermode I/O Protocol

Does anyone know how to fix this?
The only thing my searches came up with was rarepair.exe, but this does
not seem to be available for download on the internet. Not even sure
if this will fix the problem.

thanks for any advice.

proper motherboard drivers installed ?

I think so - the computer's been working fine for over 2 years, then
this happened and cannot access internet. When i try ipconfig /renew
it says cannot access rpc server
