WAN Miniport

In looking at my device drivers, I see a WAN Miniport (Network Monitor)
under Network Adapters. Can someone tell me what this is???

Thanks

The Wan Miniport is used for VPN connections.

You did not state whether your on a network or server. It could be just a devic
driver (not installed) listed in C:\windows\driver cach

I am running XP Pro. The system is connected by cable to a wireless
router. Since the icon for the WAN Miniport in Device Manager has a
yellow asterisk in it and the Device status is:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the
drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
I wonder if there should be something done about the apparent problem.
My home wireless network is working fine; is this related to the WAN?
