Slow Boot - Drivers keep reloading over and over

My boot time has increased from 20 seconds to about 3 minutes. I ran
boot logging and ntbtlog.txt shows that my drivers keep loading (or
not loading, depending on the driver) over and over. In general, the
drivers that load do so about 10-20 times. Drivers that did not load
repeat about 200 times.

I noticed that each time AGP440.sys loads except for the last time, it
is followed by a bunch of drivers that do not load repeatedly. The
following sequence is one example where the same drivers not loading
repeats over and over, right after AGP440.sys loads. This particular
sequence repeats many times and there are others that repeat
similarly. I don't know if this is significant, but I uninstalled
SecureRemote a couple weeks before this started happening with no
immediate ill effects. Also, the boot time increased, though not
drastically, after the mid-July Windows updates. What does this mean?

I am running XP Pro, 2.26GHZ, 1GB RAM.

You can check your device manager and the Event Viewer
for any problems, or error and warning messages. In the
control panel, Administrative Tools is the event viewer.
You may try re-booting into the safe mode menu, then
select the option; "last known good configuration". Be
sure all device drivers are updated to good versions.

There are no errors or warnings in the event viewer and all drivers
are working. Therefore, if I boot to last known good configuration, I
would expect to get the current configuration. I have the latest
drivers for my sound and video cards. I might add that I have already
tried uninstalling all the updated drivers and Windows updates I
installed since before the problem started and it did not help.

Correction! I only checked the application Event Viewer because I've
never had an entry in the System Event Viewer. In the System Event
Viewer I am getting the following error message (without the quotes):
"The Computer Browser service depends on the Workstation service which
failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be
started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled
devices associated with it." The EventID is 7001.
