Why are some of the pictures in my pictures folder put in the desktop
wallpaper tab of display properties automatically? How do i stop this
as you cant delete them from the desktop wallpaper tab of display
properties?

Move them from the My Pictures folder in your My Documents Folder

There is now way to 'delete' them from the wall paper tab of display.

No, but they can be deleted from the wallpaper folder, where they reside, or came to be placed. The only way a given image can used from another folder, is if one browses to it using that feature in the Display/Desktop tab part, and then only one image can be used. The wallpaper folder defaults all images to the tab list.
