Wallpaper..no start menu or icons

My daughters computer displays wallpaper only..no task bar..no icons...IE
must be working as she gets a "yahoo" screen.

if it's windows XP, 2000, or ME then right-click on the blank select 'Arrange
Icons By' and select 'Show Desktop Icons'
as for the Taskbar it could be hidden, drag your mouse to the bottom of the
screen and if it appears right-click on it select 'Properties' and uncheck
'Auto-hide the taskbar'
you may need to reboot your computer to Safe mode and and select System
Restore to undo the chabges, as a last resort...(if you know how)

All I have is wallpaper...there is nothing to "click" on...It's windows
xp...not sure about how to reboot in safe mode....will that give me a taskbar
and icons ?????

Check for a small program called Iconoid in control panel add/remove
programs. I have it on my pc and it hides your icons until you click on any
place on
the screen and they appear for a set length of time then disappear again. I
have only wallpaper on my screen. I use xp home system.
