wallpaper disappeared

My Windows XP pro (sp1) is set to bring up the screen saver after 10 min, and turn off monitor after 20 min. When the monitor is turn on again while I move the mouse, the wallpaper is gone. Why? Nothing wrong when I return to computer after the screen saver. I am using XP Plus! Thank you if anyone know why and fix it.

XP Plus is very hard on your System Resources. Depending on the age of
your computer. If fairly new
then you may just need a resolution or refresh rate adjustment which you
can get to thru Display Properties. Just rt click on your Desktop and select
Properties>Settings>Advanced. If your computer is
under powered then using XP Plus may be a luxury you can't afford.
