Wake on Lan with 802.11b wireless network?

Ok, here's the situation. I've got 3 computers throughout the house,
all running windows xp. (2 laptops both running xp professional,
desktop is running the home version). They're all connected via an
802.11b network.

In one room I have an HP PSC2100 series all-in-one device hooked up to
one of the laptops. I have it set to share the printer, and that works
fine - until the laptop decides to go into suspend mode.

Is there an option somewhere to make the laptop "wake up" when one of
the other computers attempts to connect to it through the wireless
network?

If your bios/motherboard supports it, the wake on lan or wake on ring
setting will be in the bios. Check there.

It will have to be something that can be noticed by the BIOS, so it will
depend on how the WiFi is connected in. If it were an external device
connecting to a LAN port, then the chances are that the BIOS will have a
Wake on LAN: if it is say a PC Card then it is unlikely that the BIOS
will look at it

I went into BIOS and set it to wake on lan, but I'm thinking it's not
going to work. It's a Dell notebook, with built-in wireless.
Unfortunately when the machine is in standby or turned off all
together, the wireless receiver won't be listening, so it's not going
to turn on.

I think I did see an option in the BIOS setup though to not really
shut down - just power down the screen or something - when the system
is on a/c power. That might provide an alternative.
