Wake-on-LAN not working on HP machine running XP

Hello,

I was wondering if anone has managed to get Wake on LAN to work.

In the BIOS (Phoenix Award) I have enabled the option
"WOL in S4"
Does this mean that WOL only works when the machine is in hibernation, and
not in standby?

In the Realtek RTL8139/810x NIC driver, I have selected the options
"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
"Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby"

When the PC is in hibernation, I've checked that the NIC light is still lit
at the back on the PC. However, the PC doesn't respond to the "Magic Packet"
sent from the AMD utility. Using Wireshark, I've also checked that the
packet is reaching the PC.

Is there anything that I might have forgotten?

Many thanks,
Paul

Your system must have ACPI to wake on LAN. It will emerge from standby or
hibernation when data arrives over the local area network or modem. Wake on
LAN cannot be used on APM machines.
ACPI is Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. APM --Advanced Power
Management.
If your system is ACPI compliant and the Windows XP Setup program has
installed an ACPI HAL it will have an item called Microsoft-ACPI Compliant
System in device manager.
