Hi,
The problem at hand...
The company has BIOS/startup passwords set. Utilizing the WOL32.exe I
can wake the machine up, and on some models (all dells) the machine
will bypass that startup password, and other models won't bypass that
password. Some machines (basically all laptops) will wake up and wait
for user intereaction (the password being typed in).
I know that Dell currently doesn't manage the BIOS/Startup Passwords,
however if it is bypassing that password screen on the desktops, why
not on the laptops. Does anyone know where that disconnect is on the
laptop models (D610, C610, D400...) is at? Or
Does anyone know why that happens to work on the desktop models
(GX270,GX620, GX280...)?
Thanks for your time.
