After re-boot I cannot do anything at all: the system
process dominates 96% of CPU at all times and does not
stop for hours already. Anybody, any ideas?

I restarted after the last update finished downloading
this morning and my computer keeps rebooting itslelf. I
cant even start it with the w2k cd or in safe mode. I am
really angry...what the heck are we supposed to do?
Someone help me please! I cant even get it started to
reinstall anything. Email me if you have any help! Thanks!

same here.
trying to uninstall updates, but this could take days.

I will be soooooooooo glad when the last important application that I need
goes to Linux. When that happens, I will never touch this POS operating
system
again.

I havent had a problem w/W2K before...I have used it for 4
years. But the problem is now I cant even start it up to
uninstall anything! It just keeps rebooting itself. Not
even with the w2k cd or in safe mode. I dont know what to
do with it. Is MSN planning on some kind of fix? How can I
fix this...I am no expert and I dont think I should have
to pay to have someone fix a problem cause by msn.

I just had exactly the same thing happen to me this morning. My
situation is a little different in that I updated two different Win2K
Servers and one works fine and the other has the process iisrstas.exe
using 100% CPU.

Alex, can you please check your Task Manager/Processes tab and see what
process is using up all your CPU?

After some detective work I found out that a fair amount
of people had similar problem with patch KB835732. I just
un-instaleed it, re-booted machine and everything is back
to normal. Try un-installing this patch. BTW, my process
was System with PID 8. Cheers.
