On April14th I applied the following updates thru Windows update:
-----
Successful Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Security Update for Windows 2000
(KB835732) Web site
Successful Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Security Update for Windows 2000
(KB828741) Web site
Successful Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Security Update for Windows 2000
(KB837001) Web site
Successful Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6
Service Pack 1 (KB831167) Web site
Successful Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Cumulative Security Update for Outlook
Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009) Web site

Since applying these, my system now takes up to 4 minutes to boot. I get an
hourglass at the "Ctrl-Alt-delete to login" and the machine hangs for
several minutes. After this period of time, the hourglass disappears and I
can login normally.

Any ideas as to which update broke me? This is Win 2k pro on a Athlon 800mhz
CPU.

BTW, I applied the same updates to my laptop (P4 Dell) with no problems.

Thanks for the input. According to the document (If I read it right), this
occurs on systems that have one of the following drivers installed:

Ipsecw2k.sys
Imcide.sys
Dlttape.sys

I searched my registry and found none of them. Did I overlook something?
MS doesn't allow you to d/l this hotfix - I will have to call them. I would
like to try to troubleshoot this myself before spending money at MS.

If all you ask for is the Hotfix, then charges are waived. Start asking
other questions and the dollar meter starts clicking.

Since I don't have any of those drivers installed, I am hesitant to install
the hotfix. Linux is looking better and better all the time ;^)
