I have attempted to upgrade my working W2K to XP Pro but it fails and hangs whilst "installing devices". I have removed every thing except the graphics card. Is there anything I can do to find out which device is causing the problem or how to complete the upgrade
Thanks in desperation
Martyn

Martyn, is it Win2Kpro? You can disconnecting all the unnecessary
devices and try the upgrade barebones. I can't remember an upgrade path
from Win2k to WinXPpro. Win2KPro yes.

Thanks for the help. Yes, it is W2K professional. I have removed everything than I can, but I have found an error log that has an "extended error message" saying that there is a problem implementing a security protocol - not sure what that means.

Martyn, if you have any anti-virus or firewall try removing or
disconnecting them temporarily.
