Install W2K XP Pro onto Separate Partition

Mike

I've got a Dell 8200 w/ W2K Pro on C:\. Using partition magic I created a
boot magic
partiton (D:\) and ntfs partition (E:\) for XP Pro.
The Pro XP CDs came from Dell. Before replacing W2K Pro w/ XP I want to
install XP into a separate partition,
but when I boot to the xp partition w/ the xp upgrade cd it won't boot and
load xp. How can I install xp w/o
first installing w2k pro then upgrading to xp pro?

Thanks,

Mike

1. Set your BIOS so that it boots from your CD drive.
2. Pop in your WinXP CD.
3. Reboot the machine.
4. Specify E:\ when prompted for a destination for WinXP.
