Recommended Updates to XP Pro

Mike

Using partition magic v8 I created a dual boot pc - w2k and xp pro.
At this point, I can't think of any reason to keep w2k and have decided
to dletel the w2k partition and tighten up xp pro. I've installed all
recommended ms xp patches and security updates.
I run xp in a small wireless peer to peer network.

Please recommend other things I should do the xp be make it more secure,
stable,, etc.

Thanks,

Mike

Internal security: stop unwanted access to your files and data by ensuring that the folders or Drives are not shared

If your PC has direct access to the internet it should have a firewall installed

Norton Personal Firewall or Zonealrm are often used for this purpose, with more features than the standard XP fiewall

As for stability, can't think of anyhting to make the most stable environment for Intel PCs any better, except maybe the next Windows product.

Failed to mention it's running RealSecure Desktop Protector firewall and
McAfee Virus software.
