w2k resolution on a compaq notebook

Few days ago, my pc hang and restart. After restart, the screen appear to be
smaller than normal (4 edges are black). I try to change a few resolution,
the smaller resolution i set, the screen grow bigger. until i set to 1600X
xxx(I forgot), the screen is look like normal size, means fit the LCD screen.
But the problem is when under 1600 resolution, the word and picture look
extra small, which give me headache to read them. I tried to install the
graphic card driver again but i doesnt help.

Anyone can help?

I would use the monitor to stretch the picture after you changed the
resolution to a smaller size.

I think you are using 1600 * 1200

Try 800 * 600 or 1024 * 768 for example

if using 1600*1200 will stretch the picture to full screen, then should
800*600 able to do so. I use 800*600 and 1027*768, they all give me the black
edge result.
