W2K reinstall problem

I am trying to reinstall my W2K but when it starts a window comes up and
says that I have software that has not finished installing and for me to
reboot and let it finish installing. The problem is I have no idea what it
is talking about the only things that I have tried to install lately have
been successful. I cant even remember what program possibly could have given
me any problems it definitely is not anything recent. How can I find out
what the installation process is referring to and how can I fix that?

It sounds like you're trying to reinstall Win2K over an existing installation.

If you're positive there's no unfinished business then you can delete the
following registry entry.

HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
