W2K "Login" User-name difficulties

Our organization uses First-, Middle-initial and Last-name for User Login-name; unfortunately I have run into one persons name which has too many characters when combined in order to be able to define him as a user on the Server.

My question:

"How does one change the size (number of characters allowed) of the entry-field in order for larger than standard names used in the Login-in Screens?"

I don't know if there is a way. But even if there is, I recommend not to do
it. With your luck (my luck too!) you will install an update or a patch one
day that will bomb-out because you hacked your OS in this way. Just chop
off his last name, or whatever it takes. That's my advice.
