hello
I have recently had to rebuild are exchange 2000 server. Before,
it was possible to login to Outlook Web Access from the Internet using
https with just a user name and password. Now we also have to supply the
domain name in order to login. There is only one exchange server on our
network and only one domain

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

By default, in OWA 2000, the OWA authentication settings are as follows:

Exchange & public: Basic(w/ Default Domain = ) & Integrated
Exchweb: Anonymous & Integrated

In order to not get prompted for the domain name, it needs to be changed to
the following:

Legend:
ESM = Changed through Exchange System Manager
IIS = Changed through IIS

Exchange & public(ESM): Basic(w/ Default Domain = <internal netbios name of
AD domain>)
--Note: This change will have taken effect once you see the change show up
in Exchange & Public virtual directories in IIS.
Exchweb & all subdirectories(IIS): Anonymous
--Note: Once you have changed Exchweb, you will need to recycle the World
Wide Web Publishing service(Start -- Programs -- Administrative Tools --
Services)
