W2003 - MOving external RAID from one server to another.

I have to move an external RAID device from one server to another. It is now
showing up on the new server as an unintialized drive space... Is this the
way it works? If I initialize the drive will I lose the data?

HELP!!!

More than likely you need to restore a backup after the raid is rebuilt at
the new location.

Unfortunatly the System Admin "Forgot" to include that device in their
backups and that server failed. So trying to get the data to move to new
server.

If it is the same disk controller then I'd ask the controller manufacturer
if it is possible.
