w2000pro reboots instead of shutting down

my windows 2000 is doing fine after a relatively new
install except it has started when shutting down on atx
machine it instead does what appears to be a full reboot
instead of completing shutdown and turning the machine off.
Any suggestions or heads up to pertinent articles would be
appreciated. Have run SFC.

I have this problem before. My solution is to update the system BIOS.
Hopefully this works for you.
