cleaned the virus and ran ad-aware and i still have when i reboot a
service.exe error and multiple black boxes that show vssrvc.exe in the
windows system 32 folder. ad-aware did not clean it up and norton does it see
it either. is there another fix out there for this. slows the computer down
very much.

Boot to Safe Mode and run malwarebytes.

I can't access the internet in safe mode; can you run it in normal mode?

You can select "Safe Mode with Networking". That should allow you to
dial up, or otherwise connect to the internet. You can also downloadand
install it in normal mode, get any updates, then reboot to Safe Mode,
and run the program there. The program can be run from normal mode, but
it may be prevented from running properly by the malware. Try whatever
works.

Why? Did you have another anti-virus program running instead?

Running with no anti-virus is a very dangerous thing to do.

and got a couple virus.

Does "a couple" mean two? If you meant a greater number, specify what it was
.. Also identify all the viruses by name.

i
cleaned the virus

How did you do that? Using what software?

Two points:

1. Norton is the *worst* anti-virus program on the market. Among its
deficiciencies, it is responsible for lots of slowdowns. There are several
much better choices, including free ones like Avast.

2. If you had several viruses, removing them is usually insufficient and
leaves you with problems. The only really good approach with multiple
infections is reinstalling Windows cleanly.
