VPU Recover error... your advice?

J

Jay Michaels

This is my setup:

WinXP Home SP1
Athlon XP 1800+
Biostar M7VIB
384 MB PC2100 DDR RAM
80GB WD HD
54x24x54 CD-RW LiteOn
16x DVD-ROM StarLogic
4x BenQ DVD+RW
Audigy Platinum
350 Watt PSU

To work with:

Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600
TV Wonder VE

Which drivers would you recommend and installation order for drivers? I've
tried the newest ones and get the "VPU Recovery Error....". I've tried the
old ones using the "hotfix", but the video capture looks and sounds like
total crap. Anybody else have suggestions on how to get a TV Wonder to work
with a Radeon card? Or should I just scrap the TV Wonder and get a
different tuner altogether? If so, which kind do you recommend?

Thanks in advance for any ideas....

Scrap the VE in favor of a Hauppauge PVR-250. The 250 has an on-board
hardware MPEG encoder so while you're recording, the CPU isn't tied up.
fwiw...
