VPN Windows 2000 --- cannot set up

When I try to create a VPN in Windows2000, the only
choices I have are:
Dial up to the Internet & Accept incomming connections
?????
I searched my butt off at MS Knowledge Base and that led
me know-where.

I've tried to:
Enable / start Telephony
Enable / start Remote Access Connection Manager and Remote
Access Auto Connetion Manager...errors 1068 & 1717,
respectively.
I deleted HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Current Control
Set/Services/RasMan/PPP/EAP folders 25 and 26

What else could possibly cause Win2K to block my VPN!!!!!!!
My Win98 and XP machines are fine.

You could try running System File Checker as in sfc /scannow to see if it helps,
use msconfig to troubleshoot via selective startup in case there is a conflict
with a startup application/service, or an in place upgrade installation of W2K
which will require you to reinstall first the service pack and then all critical
updates if all else fails assuming you have also scanned for viruses and
parasites. --- Steve
