VPN - Secondary Login Advice Please

John

Hi,

Currently we use a DSL router that pass the VPN through to our Windows
2000 Server.

The server then authenticates the user, assigning them the rights we
specify.

This works fine for 1 VPN client, as our router only supports 1
VPN....

Now I need to allow 5 simultaneous users VPN access to our network.

I have been advised to buy a new router that supports multiple users.
The VPN client is authenticated in the router, NOT the server.

How do I assign the users rights to the user, when they are logging
into the router ?

I have been told that they will need a secondary login, for the
network, how do I do this ??

Thanks

John

Check out www.sonicwall.com - their proprietary IPSec VPN solution works
very well in every place I've ever set it up. The users will be allowed in
and then can connect to domain/server resources on the host network by
passing along the appropriate credentials - or, if they're using Windows
NT/2k/XP clients that belong to the domain (easy enough to set up if these
are laptops and they can be brought into the office), they can log into the
domain with cached credentials, connect via VPN, and access resources
without even having to pass through the credentials.
