VPN Router to Win 2000 Server

I have a number of clients who use varying assortments of Windows servers
and workstations. Some on Win 98, some on Win NT some on Win 2K and some on
a mix. Many have no domain Server. Some use just a workgroup of Win 2K Pro
and Win 98.

The problem is how to get these guys a VPN solution. There are a number of
DSL routers that offer NAT and VPN. Al these customers have a DSL
connection. We are currently experimenting with a number of hardware VPN
solutions which are all quite similar. WE can set up accounts and access the
box. The problem is how then to access the Windows resources on the other
side of the VPN box. Win Win2K VPN, you log on to the domain so you are
sorted. With a hardware VPN, I can't

Any clues would be really useful

Many thanks

Once the VPN is established, they would access the resources the same way
as if they are plugged in at the office where the machine is.

When we access via the VPN, we see nothing and can access nothing. In the
office or via dial up, one logs into the Win 2000 Domain or local machine
and are authenticated by Win 2K. How does the local machine or domain know
who we are as there is no form of authentication on the windows side. Only
on the VPN box. This is what confuses me

Also, if we want to access resources directly can we use the unc name of the
remote machine. We tried this but nothing happened

Thanks
