I am successful in connecting to my employers VPN ........ but what must I get stup in oreder to do useful work?
My home ( Remote PC) is Win2000

My work Desktop PC is WinXP Pro
At work I manage WinNT4.0 and Win2000 servers
I think I have terminal services installed and running on the WIN2k server

Thanks for any hints on how to access and work on these internal resources from my home PC

What do you want to do? Connect mapped drives, etc., from your computer so
you can work just as you do when in the office? For that, VPN and something
that does local name resolution such as an lmhosts file or WINS if your
office uses it, should do the trick.

You mention "the" Win2k server - is this a domain controller, or is it a
dedicated TS box running in application mode?

Do you have IT staff in the office who can help you?

Once you're in you may wish to update those budget figures your boss asked
you for last Thursday.

TS in admin mode on the W2k server will allow you to log in (2 concurrent
logins) to manage the server, but not to work as though you were on a
workstation.

If you have remote desktop enabled on WinXP Pro in the office, you can use
VPN to connect to the network, and then use the RD client to access remote
desktop and work as though you were in the office.

You can't take control/use remote desktop on a Win2K computer - there are
third party solutions for this - see DameWare or RealVNC for some options.
