vpn on win2k problem

i have vpn setup....with the remote pc's connecting via
dial up. when i connect at one place with a 40kbs plus
conection everything works just fine. when i connect at
another place i often only get a 24kbs conection speed. at
this place i cant get conected to any drive shares. i can
ping the host but i generally lose a packet or two but it
does ping. i think that my problem might be that the slow
conection isnt fast enough, and so im getting time outs.
does anyone know how to fix this??? both machines are
using w2k. thanks
storm

Unfortunately the solution would be to speed up the connections. When you
are using a VPN tunnel, it has always been said that you loose up to 35% of
your connection for the overhead of the tunnel. Following this logic you
really loose alot from the 24k connection. :(
