VPN Help

Hi there,

I think I'm in way over my head on this one, but I need to figure out a
solution anyway. I'm trying to set up a VPN for a small office. The current
configuation is as follows:

Router for Wireless Internet Service
Multiport Switch
Peer to Peer Lan

I set up a windows xp pro computer to be the vpn server and receive incoming
calls, also setting the option to allow client to access the LAN. I set the
router ports to be passed to this computer (which has a static IP address).
I set the DNS on this computer for the default gateway. The router is
enabled for DHCP. I am trying to connect from two different remote
computers.

The first is running XP pro, connecting through a wireless router. It can
connect into the computer (says it is connected and the receiving computer
says that it has a client connected). I can ping the computers in the
network but I cannot see any resources, even on the host computer. The
second is running xp home, same scenario. I can ping, I can connect, but I
can't see any resources at all.

Any input would be appreciated...I'm very much a novice, so please provide
details in any responses.

Thanks for your time.

Follow up - I got in by mapping a shared folder, is that the best way? I'm
concerned about security primarily, but also would like the convenience of
seeing the internal workgroup like I do when I'm in the office, is there a
way to do this?

In this case, it is better to map the remote computer using IP. If you do want to browse using the hostname, you may try lmhosts. These search results may help,
