VPN Authentication to AD

We have a Windows2k Server as our firewall as well as VPN server
handling 15+ VPN users. The network runs on AD.

For performance reasons, I've been toying around with OpenBSD and
Linux as the VPN host, but theres a little problem. Beside the VPN
authentication, the user then needs to get authenticated with the AD
server behind it. This has been an issue with clients using Windows2k,
XP and 98. With win2k, when you try to access a server, a popup box
appears asking for the login and password. 98 Just doesnt see the
network. The DHCP server on the Linux server offers the right WINS and
DNS server IPs. The 98 clients worked well with the Win2k Server
firewall.

Is there any setting on these clients to login to AD the moment the
VPN connection is made? I would be happy with a win2k solution only.

Can I use a vbscript script using ADSI API to run right after the VPN
connection is made?
