Volumn Bar

Once again I'm asking for your help. I seem to have lost
the volumn bar across the bottom of my screen. How can I
get this back? Wonder how I lost it! OS is XP SP1 Home
Edition. Thanks to all you nice people. Belle

Go to Control Panel>Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices>Adjust system volume,
make sure to "check" the box that says "place volume icon in the taskbar",
then click OK.

Look at www.wpgsoft.com for "Hotkey Helper" - really smart volume
controller!

Lars!

Thanks for the replies. They are helpful. However, it
isn't the sound icon in the taskbar that has disappeared,
it is the bars across the botton of the screen when you
adjust the volumn up or down. Sorry, I didn't express
the problem more clearly. Again, Thanks for the replies.

The on screen display for volume (similar to a progress bar) is present
when using a keyboard that has multimedia keys. Many of these keyboards are
supported by the generic drivers included with XP and nothing extra needs
to be done to have this tool appear. For a few keyboards, you'll need to
install the software that came with the keyboard -or- download the softwae
from the keyboard manufacturer and install it.
