VOLUME ICON

Susan

I can't get the volume icon to stay on my taskbar. I
have gone into "Sounds and Audio" and selected "Place
icon on my taskbar" + apply + OK, and nothing happens.
When I right click the taskbar + Properties +
Customize, "Volume" shows as a folder under "Past Items".
Once in a while the icon mysteriously appears but next
time I login, it's gone again. My audio device
is "Creative SB Live! Series" and I am using McAfee
Privacy, Firewall and Virus Protection. Any suggestions,
please? Susan

The 'hide icons that is not frequently used' is set to on.
Right Click on the Task Bar and go to Properties. You'll
find the setting there (I have Win2K, so I can't off hand
tell you exactly where)

When the icon is visible in the Notification Area, run this edit:

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
