Volume Icon Missing from Toolbar

Hello, I have been to the following page (that I am pasting) which describes
the exact error message I am getting. I have followed the instructions to
bring my volume control back to my toolbar, though when I attempt, I get a
message stating there is no destination. I am using the Microsoft Windows XP
Pro reinstallation CD. Perhaps I am using the wrong CD. I will appreciate
any help provided. Thank you!
