Volume Icon in task bar and time in task bar.

No matter what I do I can't make the volume Icon appear
in the task bar. I have followed the instructions given
by Microsoft and it still will not appear consistently.
Sometimes it is there when the computer boots up, but
most of the time it is not. Also the time in the task
bar always resets itself to one hour before the actual
time no matter how many times I reset the time. Can
anyone offer any suggestions as to what the problem may
be?

For the time:

1. Start->Run cmd.exe
2. net stop w32time
3. w32tm /unregister [ignore error message]
4. w32tm /unregister
5. w32tm /register
6. net start w32time
