Loss of all icons and task bar

Hi, I have lost all my icons and the task bar on the desktop screen. All I
have is the wallpaper. Everything appears to be working on the computer,
including the screen saver but the only way that I can access any
applications is via Ctrl Alt Del and selecting New Task.
I have tried re-booting, System Restore, Repairing Windows, even playing
around in Safe Mode, infact just about everything I can think of all to no
avail - there are no icons or task bar on my desktop!
Any ideas please? Many thanks, mkn777er

A Big Help

I had the same problem too, I Booted into safe mode and CMD, and used
X:\Windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe .The X means where's your system
drive, most times it's C

Try my way and try Ctrl+Alt+Delete and new task and explorer.exe

Problem is with explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) which makes all icons and
taskbar

This is generally due to a graphic driver update via MS-Updates, etc. If
this is the case, roll back the driver via Device Manager.

Another option while troubleshooting is to end the process via Task Manager
for explorer.exe, then recreate via File/Run.

I also have a stand alone on line 319:

You may also want to run line 164 as well.
