volume display bar

Hi,
I used to have a little window that displayed on the lower right of my
screen whenever I pressed the increase/decrease volume buttons on my
keyboard. The window would show a bar indicating the volume level.
After reinstalling xp on my laptop I no longer see it. I have a Dell
Inspiron 8600 with a centrino chip. Can anyone advise how I can get
the bar back? The volume works fine; I just want the bar to show up
when i push volume up/down.

Thanks.

These applications are not part of XP but they are some 3rd party tools and they are installed as part of ur lap top. For eg I get mine with the cordless keyboard and mice and I configured to show settings on keyboard

Please contact the dealer of your laptop to find the application which installs this indicator

I agree that the volume indicator is a 3rd party application that could be included when you install either your Keybord or laptop drivers. Since you recently installed XP, You may have to go beck to the manufacture site and D/L your drivers once again to get that extra little perk with your components.
